Locomotion
Your preschooler is able to run 45 feet in 6 seconds or less. He is able to jump 26 inches forward using a two footed take off and landing. He is able to walk 4 feet forward on tiptoes on a 4 inch wide line without stepping off. His running pattern is characterized by bilateral and reciprocal arm swing, the balls of feet are used to push forward, high knee and heel lift and trunk leaning forward. He is able to walk 8 feet forward on a 4 inch wide line without stepping off.
Stationary
With hands on hips, he is able to stand on one foot for 5 seconds.
Object manipulation
He is able to throw a small ball 10 feet forward with an overhand toss, using uper trunk rotation, arms and legs moving in opposition and initiating by moving arm up and back. He is able to hit a target with an underhand toss. Your child is able to catch an 8 inch ball with hands and securing it against chest if necessary.
